Tehran: Iran has remained the president of the Asia-Pacific Federation of the Hard of Hearing and Deafened (APFHD) for the third consecutive time. Representatives from Iran, Singapore, Bahrain, South Korea, and Australia were nominated for the presidency, but the federation opted to retain Iran in the position through a majority vote.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the decision was made during the 10th Asia Pacific Deaf Games, which are scheduled to take place from December 1-8, 2024, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The federation’s choice reaffirms Iran’s continued leadership in the APFHD.
Mohammad Pargar, a prominent Iranian athlete and Deaflympic champion, is associated with this ongoing presidency, highlighting Iran’s significant contributions to the sporting community for the deaf and hard of hearing.
