Iran reveals new milestone in nuclear talks with Russia

Moscow, IRNA – Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami said that Tehran and Moscow have reached agreement to establish a new mechanism in the new round of talks to accelerate proceedings.

Eslami who is in Moscow to speak with the President of ROSATOM Alexey Likhachev said in a press conference on Wednesday that initial agreement was made to accelerate implementation of joint nuclear projects and plans in the fields of health, development of radiation applications, and nuclear power plants, especially operating and inaugurating Bushehr Plant N1 and the second and third phases of the project.

He also said that it was agreed that Iran would set a payment timing to prevent delays in the project and also the efficiency would be increased to make up for the 22-month delay already happened.

Eslami and Likhachev met on Tuesday and discussed expansion of Iran-Russia cooperation on peaceful nuclear energy.
