Iran rugby team finishes fourth in Asia championship

Tehran, IRNA – The Iran national rugby union team has succeeded in standing fourth in the 2022 Asia Rugby Championship.

The Iranian team won two games and lost two others to stand fourth for the first time in its history.

In the 2022 Asia Rugby Championship, the Iranian rugby players defeated Pakistan and Kazakhstan, but they could not overcome Thailand and Afghanistan.

Some 16 teams from Asia competed in the tournament.

This weekend in Jakarta, Indonesia, the women’s and men’s Asia Rugby Sevens Trophy 2022 was held from August 6 to 7 at the GBK Rugby Field.

The men’s 15’s Asia Rugby Championship (ARC), began in 1969 as the Asian Rugby Football Tournament (ARFT), and was, at that time, one of the oldest international Rugby tournaments.
