Tehran, IRNA – Possibility of exporting indigenous coronavirus vaccines has been examined and it will be done in a few months, Iran’s deputy health minister for research and technical affairs announced on Sunday.
Domestic producers will both provide the nation with the COVID-19 vaccine and export it, Younes Panahi told IRNA.
Asked whether there is possibility of industrial production of coronavirus vaccines in the country, the official said that some indigenous producers have reached good achievements and that mass production of the vaccines will happen in the future.
He further said he is sure that the future of Iranian vaccines is bright.
He went on to say that the government is after supporting the domestic producers of coronavirus vaccines, noting that the country, today, produces both attenuated and protein-based vaccines, and this is honorable.
At his remarks, the official said the country is after continuation of the process of vaccination in the country.
Although remarkable reduction has been seen in the number of deaths due to the coronavirus in the country, it should decrease more after having further vaccination and following health protocols, he underlined.
Since its outbreak worldwide, the deadly coronavirus has killed over 5,360,000. The number of the dead in Iran has passed 131,000.
