Iran sentences 6 to death over terror attacks in Khouzestan

Ahvaz, IRNA – The Revolutionary Court in the southern Iranian city of Ahvaz has sentenced six people to death over involvement in terrorist attacks in the province of Khouzestan in recent years.

According to a Monday statement by the Iranian judiciary, the six had been involved in armed terrorist operations in Khouzestan over 2017 and 2018.

The statement identified the six as Ali Mojaddam, Mohammad Reza Moghadam, Moein Khanfari, Habib Deris, Adnan Ghobeishavi and Salem Mousavi.

All those sentenced to death were members of the Harakat al-Nezal terrorist group and had received orders and instructions for terror attacks in Iran from ringleaders in Europe.

The convicts had killed two members of Basij security forces in the city of Aabdan as well as a law enforcement officer and a conscript in the nearby city of Bandar Imam Khomeini.
