Tehran, IRNA – Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber said on Tuesday that Iran supports any effective initiative to stabilize Lebanon.
Mokhber made separate telephone conversations with Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon Nabih Berri and Prime Minister of Lebanon Najib Mikati on Tuesday.
Thanking the bravery of the Lebanese nation and emphasizing the essence of peace and stability in the country, Mokhber said that the Islamic Republic of Iran will support any initiative that is effective for the political and economic stability of Lebanon, as they will not hesitate to help the Lebanese people and government in this way.
The senior Lebanese officials stressed the significance of enhancing and boosting friendly relations between the two states in all fields and urged the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for its energy supply.
They also invited Mokhber to visit Lebanon to further boost ties between the two states.
