Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Monday that normalization of trade relations with Iran was one of the commitments shouldered by the other side under JCPOA which has to be fully implemented in Vienna talks.
Amirabdollahian made the remarks during a phone conversation with his British counterpart Liz Truss.
The main part of trade agreements between Iran and the UK has not been implemented yet, he said, adding that expediting financial exchanges between the two countries requires further efforts by London.
Referring to an old debt to Iran by the UK, the Iranian foreign minister said that the Iranian people are entitled to ask the UK to pay the debt and London has to promptly act in this regard.
Amirabdollahian took the US responsible for the current situation of JCPOA and said that some other parties to the deal exacerbated the situation with their irresponsibility and silence to the US measures.
The foreign minister reiterated that the success of Vienna talks relies on the removal of all the sanctions, the return of all the parties to their commitments, providing the necessary guarantees to implement the agreements, and verifying the measures of the other side.
The British foreign secretary, for her part, expressed satisfaction with setting a date for a new JCPOA Joint Commission meeting and said that the three European countries involved in the talks (E3) are eager and serious to continue with the negotiations.
The two sides also exchanged views about consular issues.
The necessity to dispatch international humanitarian supplies to the Afghan people and the significance of forming an inclusive government in the country, the catastrophic human situation in Yemen and the need for putting an end to the siege on the Yemeni people, support for stability in Lebanon, and continued violation of human rights in Bahrain were also discussed in the talks.
