Iran, Venezuela ready to expand tourism ties

Tehran, IRNA – The Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of the Islamic Republic of Iran discussed expansion of tourism ties with Venezuelan tourism minister.

Venezuela’s Minister of Tourism and Foreign Trade Alí Padrón met with Iranian deputy minister Ali Asghar Shalbafian on Saturday.

In the meeting, Shalbafian gave a report on Iran’s measures in the field of tourism during the coronavirus pandemic and its plans for the post-pandemic period.

The official said that Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism has put the cooperation plan with Venezuela on the agenda.

Highlighting the potential for Iran and Venezuela to leverage opportunities ahead, including tourism exhibitions, Shalbafian said that Iran was ready to hold introduction tours for tourism agents in the form of safe travel.

Both officials acknowledged that their approach was to expand tourism ties and strengthen interactions to control the pandemic impact on tourism industry.
