Iranian films shine in Asia Pacific Screen Awards

Tehran, IRNA – Several movies representing Iranian cinema in the 14th Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) shined by being nominated for awards in various categories.

Nominations for APSA awards were announced on Wednesday and 38 films made their way to compete for best awards in various categories.

Iranian films shined with seven nominations in different categories, including “A Hero” directed by Asghar Farhadi for Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Screenplay awards.

“Careless Crime” directed by Shahram Mokri was another Iranian film nominated for best screenplay.

“A Hero” will compete in Best Feature Film Award category with other films like “A Night of Knowing Nothing” directed by Payal Kapadia, “Drive My Car” directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, and “The Pencil” directed by Natalya Dazarova.

“When Pomegranates Howl” directed by Granaz Mousavi is another Iranian representative hopeful of winning the Best Youth Film Award.
