Iranian students issue statement at Aban 13 rallies

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Student Societies issued a statement on November 4, to mark National Student Day, which is the anniversary of the takeover of the former US Embassy in Iran.

The enemy has targeted the strongholds of science. We vow to make the enemies disappointed in the path of science and research, the statement read.

We, the young, vow to counter the Western conspiracy to promote western lifestyle and today we have gathered to say that we are the fourth and fifth generation of the Islamic Revolution, and we will definitely be the nightmare of the Global Arrogance in the futurem the statement said.

Aban 13 (November 4) is the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance in Iran and taking over the US embassy in Tehran.

The statement also commemorated the martyrs of the Shah Cheragh terrorist attack in Shiraz City in southern Iran.

Nationwide rallies started in Tehran and 900 other cities of Iran on Friday, November 4, to mark National Student Day, which is the anniversary of the takeover of the former US Embassy in Iran.

Aban 13 (November 4) is the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance in Iran, on which Iranians gather together in rallies to commemorate the day.

On the 13th of Aban 1358 A.H. (Nov 4, 1979) Iranian students took over the US embassy in Tehran. On the same day the previous year, a group of Iranian high school and university students had been killed by the security forces of the Shah regime in a protest demonstration.

During the nationwide Aban 13 rallies, the Iranian people show hatred towards the global hegemonic powers and renew allegiance to the Islamic principles set by Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.

At the end of the 13th Aban rallies, the Muslim worshipers will hold the Friday prayers in Tehran.

More than 3500 reporters and photographers cover the rallies throughout the country.
