Iran’s Embassy in Italy calls for contribution to help solve Afghanistan crisis

London, IRNA – In the wake of holding the Second Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan’s Neighboring Countries in Tehran, Iran’s Embassy in Italy released a statement, calling on Italian and European media, experts, and governments to participate in solving the crisis in Afghanistan.

The statement released on Wednesday by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Italy highlighted the four decades of misery in Afghanistan since the Soviet invasion, followed by the Taliban and al-Qaida reign and finally the US invasion.

It also referred to the Second Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan’s Neighboring Countries which is being held in Tehran, underlining that Iran attaches a lot of importance to strengthening regional cooperation to help establish peace in Afghanistan, as Iran is a neighbor directly affected by the development in that country.

The statement gave a brief explanation of Iran’s contributions to peace and stability in Afghanistan, saying that a prosperous Afghanistan was in the interest of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Italy in the end called on social and political experts and elites, researchers, journalists and the media to further dive in Afghanistan issues and actively participate in attracting assistance of NGOs and governments to help Afghanistan emerge from the crisis.
