Iran’s Red Crescent delivers 6m doses of COVID-19 vaccine to health ministry

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s Red Crescent Society (IRCS) on Tuesday delivered the 25th consignment of imported COVID-19 vaccines, containing 6 million doses, to the Health Ministry.

The IRCS chief Karim Hemmati said that with the arrival of the third shipment, containing 6 million doses of the vaccine by the end of this week, the Society will have fulfilled the promise for receiving 18 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine in one week.

Iran’s Red Crescent Society has imported a total number of 64,390,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine since May, he added.

Hemmati said that the IRSC will receive the third shipment by the end of this week, bringing the number of imported vaccines by this Society to 70,390,000 doses.

According to Iran’s Health Ministry, 45,748,724 Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine and 19,918,743 people have so far received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as well.
