Iran’s team scoops medals at UAE Para Powerlifting World Cup

Tehran, IRNA – The Iranian national team won colorful medals at the 12th Para Powerlifting World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.

The team, made up of seven para powerlifters in the men’s category, won 8 gold and 2 bronze.

Ahmad Aminzadeh, taking part in the Men’s over 107kg, got scores by lifting 250kg and 257 kg in his first and second competitions respectively. He got gold after putting up a 265kg score in his third and final competition. Aminzadeh also won overall gold.

In the meantime, Mehdi Sayyadi won bronze after he won the first and second competitions in the same category, but lost in his third and final round.

The 12th Para Powerlifting World Cup kicked off in Dubai on December 15, running for four days and bringing together over 200 competitors from 40 countries.
