Iraq announces sending 75 tons of medical aid to Lebanon by air


The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced today, Thursday, the arrival of 75 tons of Iraqi medical aid and supplies to Lebanon, while confirming preparations to send the first land aid convoy.

The Secretariat’s Spokesman, Haider Majeed, told the official News Agency: “Iraq has completed the delivery of 75 tons of medical, therapeutic and humanitarian aid to Lebanon through 5 air sorties, including a shipment for the Ministry of Health, three shipments for the Popular Mobilization Authority and one for the Red Crescent Society.”

He added that “the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein is preparing – in the coming hours – to launch the first land aid convoy to Lebanon, which is very large and contains medical devices, equipment and relief supplies.”

He explained, “There are campaigns in the governorates to collect food supplies to Lebanon.”

He added, “The Ministry of Health confirmed to its Lebanese counterpart its readiness to receive the wounded and prepare hospitals and medical and health perso
nnel for this purpose.
