Iraq, Venezuela Discuss Updating And Activating Agreements And MoUs Signed Between The Two Countries In The Fields Of Oil, Energy, Economy And Security


The Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Iraq in Venezuela, Minister Plenipotentiary Khalid Karim Mohammed Zangana, met with the Undersecretary of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Asia and the Middle East, Tatiana Buch, at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Chargé d’Affaires offered congratulations during the meeting on the occasion of the re-election of President Nicolas Maduro.

For her part, the Undersecretary of the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed her country’s desire to arrange a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, and Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Ivan Gil, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The two sides also discussed the course of bilateral relations between Iraq and Venezuela that have extended for more than seven decades, and stressed the importance of updating and activating the agreement
s and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries in the fields of oil, energy, economy, trade, culture, and security, in a way that achieves the interests of the two friendly peoples.
