Islamic Revolution based on Quranic, philosophical thoughts: Spanish expert

Tehran, IRNA – Spanish Researcher Carlos Paz has praised Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution, saying that it was actually a lawful system that enjoyed a completely new political structure based on the holy Quran and resulted from deep philosophical thoughts.

Paz made the comment in an interview with IRNA on Thursday that was conducted on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.

He described the revolution as a “political earthquake in the world” at that time. He explained why the West opposed it and continued to take hostile policies against the Islamic Republic which was established in Iran after the victory of the revolution.

The Spanish researcher believes that Iran’s Islamic Revolution blocked the way the West had exploited the country’s natural resources through the toppled Shah regime. That paved the way for their hostility towards Iran, which is still underway and is being aggravated by media outlets constantly trying to attribute the Islamic Republic with “evil acts”, he added.

Iran’s firm stance against the Zionist regime is contributed to the reasons behind that hostility, Paz noted.

Further in his remarks, the Spanish researcher criticized the United States over policies to ignore its people’s views and impose its own will on other countries to use their resources.

He also criticized Europe for blindly supporting the US policies, which he said has resulted in European countries’ engagement in an anti-Iran campaign as well as support for the Zionist regime.

Paz at the same time praised Iran for the key role it is playing in fighting terrorism in West Asia. But, he added, that is covered up systematically in the West in a bid to pretend that Iran is a “friend of terrorism,” he added.

He also referred to the 2020 US assassination of Iran’s top anti-terror figure Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, saying that his killing raises the issue that “the presence of terrorism may help the West continue to create divisions in the Islamic world and protect the interests of the Zionist regime.”

The research believes that the presence of the resistance front is a must in the face of all those hostilities, saying that the resistance also brings positive consequences for Palestine while it negatively impacts the terrorism that is colluded with the Zionist regime.
