Baghdad, The Hebrew website “Ynet” reported that drones penetrated Israel’s airspace from the east, and were intercepted in the airspace of the port of Eilat.
The Hebrew website said that the sirens that were heard earlier in Eilat were activated after two or three drones entered Israel from the east, and they were intercepted before reaching the city.
For his part, the Israeli army spokesman said that ‘two drones that were on their way to Israel were intercepted,’ stressing that ‘they did not cross into Israeli territory.’
The spokesman added: “A fighter jet with air defense fighters succeeded in intercepting two drones that were making their way from the east, and there were no casualties.”
Ammon News Agency reported that ‘residents in Aqaba Governorate detected explosions of suspicious objects at sea and in the sky last night.’
Eyewitnesses told the agency that they “documented with their mobile phone cameras the moments of interception of drones, in addition to their fall and explosion in Eilat, acco
mpanied by an over flight of Israeli military aircraft.”
An Israeli reported two injuries as a result of shrapnel falling on the port floor, without reporting any other damage.
The “Islamic Resistance in Iraq” announced yesterday evening, Monday, that it had targeted military targets in Eilat, using 3 drones.
