Italy plans to invest in Iran medical industry: Envoy

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian and Italian firms pave the ground to invest in Iran’s health sector and to jointly produce medical equipment, Italy’s Ambassador to Tehran Giuseppe Perrone said.

The ambassador made the remarks on the sidelines of the 23rd International Exhibition of Medical, Dental, Laboratory, Pharmaceutical and Health Equipment (Iran Health) on Friday, noting that some Italian companies take part in the exhibition.

It is very important for Italy to participate in the exhibition, which is on the same level of international expos concerning health sector, so the result is pleasant for the Italians, the envoy argued.

As to presence of a great number of Iranian knowledge-based companies in the exhibition, he said that there are good opportunities for Iranian firms in Italy to kick off cooperation in medical equipment and health sector; thus, Italy will embrace Iranian companies’ collaborations.

Perrone emphasized that given the facts that there is a good relationship between the two countries and that Italian firms are interested in having a say in Iran’s markets especially medical equipment market, participation in the international event can pave the way for more cooperation in trade, scientific,

and investment arenas.

The international exhibition is held at Tehran International Permanent Fairground to display medical and dental equipment, pharmaceutical products, machinery, laboratory equipment, food supplements, hospital equipment, consumer products, vitamins, and herbal drugs from May 24 to May 27 from 9 am to 6 pm.
