Japan says ready to expand cooperation with Iran

Mashad, IRNA – Japanese Ambassador to Iran Kazutoshi Aikawa said on Wednesday that his country was ready to expand cooperation with Iran, highlighting the long-standing ties between the two countries.

Aikawa made the remarks in a meeting with the Vice-Chairman of Astan Qods Razavi Malek Rahmati in Mashhad.

He underscored the cooperation between Japan and Iran in fighting against the coronavirus spread taking advantage of modern medical equipment and standing against the bilateral US sanctions as well as Tokyo’s humanitarian aids to the Afghan refugees settled along Iran’s border with Afghanistan.

Rahmati, as his part, said that Iran and Japan were well aware of the dimensions of economic sanction which is one of the domination tools used by the global arrogance, i.e. the US.

The US was the only country in history to actually use nuclear weapons, as no one in the world would forget the US’ nuclear attack on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he noted.

The very country restricts other countries under the pretext of the possibility that those states may make nuclear weapons, Rahmati went on to add.

He also mentioned the abilities of Astan Qods Razavi in various areas, including pharmacy, agriculture and architecture, saying that the entity was ready to cooperate on such projects as desalination and digital economy.
