Japan sends home 3 Iranian convicts to serve jail terms in Iran

Tehran, IRNA – Japan has sent three Iranian convicts to Iran so as to serve the rest of their prison terms in their motherland, Deputy Justice Minister Mahmoud Abbasi said on Tuesday.

Abbasi said that the three Iranian prisoners, who had been behind bars for long years in Japan, were sent to Iran following negotiations between political and judicial officials of both countries and thanks to the efforts made by the Iranian embassy in Tokyo.

He also noted that Japan’s action in sending Iranian prisoners home takes place in line with implementing an already signed document between Iran and Japan for the extradition of prisoners.
