Jeddah Governor Receives Torch of Saudi Games 2024


Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, today at the King Abdulaziz University, received the torch for the third edition of the Saudi Games 2024. The torch was handed to Prince Saud by football player Mohammed Noor, who was named the Best Player in the League in 2009. The torch relay at the university included Noor, along with triathlete Nora Al-Sudairi, who won the gold medal at the Bahrain Triathlon Federation Championship 2023, the bronze medal at the 2023 Saudi Games, and the bronze medal at the 2023 Jeddah Governorate Triathlon. This is part of the promotional tour for the torch ahead of the launch of the largest national sporting event in the Kingdom.

The torch will continue its tour in Jeddah with a visit to the historical Asfan Castle. There, it will be carried by karate player Yaqoub Bukhou, who won the gold medal in individual kata at the 2023 Asian Junior and Youth Championship in Kazakhstan, and by padel player Najwa Salhab, who won third place in both the Saudi Games 2022 and 2023.

he torch will then head for Effat University, where it will be carried by cyclist Dania Sambawi, who won the silver medal at the Saudi Games 2023, and Paralympic weightlifter Saeed Al-Hawsawi, who won the bronze medal at the 2022 West Asian Championship and the silver medal at the Saudi Games 2023.

The governor of Jeddah praised the unwavering support of the wise leadership for sports and athletes in the Kingdom and wished all participants in the competitions success in achieving their ambitions and goals.
