King Charles III and sunset of United Kingdom

Tehran, IRNA – The death of Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary), who ruled Britain and 15 member states of the Commonwealth realms has turned into one of the most important news stories in recent days, while the future of the realms during the leadership of her son King Charles III is expected to experience different events.

In fact, the king or queen of Britain is considered the leader of 16 Commonwealth realms, including Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and the United Kingdom.

The queen inherited a 315-year-old colonialist empire, and now his 73-year-old son King Charles III has become the oldest monarch in the world to run Britain’s neo-liberal system, which derives from traditional capitalism, in order to continue a special sort of governing nation based on oppressing as well as humiliating and looting other countries.

Elizabeth II, who herself was a player in the hands of the capitalist system and followed its regulations, experienced important events such as World War II, the anti-imperialism era, the start and end of the Cold War, Britain’s accession to the European Union, peace in Ireland, Brexit (the withdrawal of the UK from EU), and the recent war in Ukraine.

Her elderliness cannot conceal her role in keeping up the vicious heritage of imperialism. Only 22 countries in the world have not been affected by the British empire directly, while 56 states have been suffering from the British empire’s crimes; so, numerous people around the globe have expressed resentment against the monarchical system in Britain and Elizabeth II herself.

Even people in Iran have witnessed the British empire’s role in conducting the 1953 Iranian coup d’état, which happened during her reign.

Although the British empire is not still existing, Britain continues its crimes and interventions in other countries by the use of new methods and on the basis of modern or even post-modern political and economic structures.

The report on the queen’s death is painful for those who love monarchical systems, but many others whose countries have lost assets and lives as a result of the imperialist system are not unhappy.

Most colonized countries are suffering from poverty and underdevelopment and the people of these states remember Elizabeth II as the queen of a genocidal empire.

The new wave of independence-seeking movements is spreading among the Commonwealth realms.

Barbados succeeded in getting rid of being under Britain’s rule and turned into a republic country in 2021; then, six countries in the Caribbean started their efforts to relinquish being under monarchical supervision. Even people in rich states such as Australia, New Zealand, and Canada have shown a desire to experience full independence.

At the present time when Queen Elizabeth II passed away and Charles III became a new king in the Commonwealth realms, many people have started reiterating their demands for freedom and calling for receiving compensation for such slavery in modern times.

Rwanda expressed unhappiness about living under the ruling of Charles III in a summit of 56 heads of states of the Commonwealth of Nations.

An August 2022 poll in Jamaica showed that 56 percent of Jamaican people call for the end of the ruling of the monarchical system in their country.

Seemingly, Great Britain, which could expand its colonies throughout the world in the past, is facing a new situation, which proves that the old saying ” The empire on which the sun never sets,” is outdated; so, the colonial power is experiencing a new era of collapse because of the new wave of independence-seeking in several Commonwealth of the Nations.
