Knot of agreement has to undone by whom tied it

New York, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has underlined that Tehran is after the talks on reaching a reasonable and fair outcome, stressing that the knot of the agreement has to be untied by whom did it.

Iran is not after talks for talks, but it is after talks for achieving a logical agreement, President Raisi said in his meeting held on the third day of the visit to New York to take part in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly with experts in the American foreign policy.

About Iran’s nuclear activities, the president said those activities are peaceful without any divergence; and this is what the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed 15 times through its reports.

Then he asked if the IAEA reports are invalid for the Western countries.

On the question about the process of improvement in Iran-Saudi Arabia relations, the president said Tehran seeks the development of ties with its neighbors, and the country has stated over and over that the regional countries are capable enough to solve their problems without the foreigners’ interference.

And one of the reasons that Iran disagrees with presence of the foreigners is the present situation of Afghanistan which is filled with destruction, massacre, and crimes after a two-decade occupation, he added.

Elsewhere, he answered to a question about conflicts in Ukraine and said Iran will make use of all its capacities to mediate and help end the conflicts there.

He further described the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) expansionist policy as one of the reasons behind insecurity worldwide.

Asked about Iran’s fight against drug trafficking, the president said if the country does not prevent such illegal moves, the entire Europe and America will be a place for traffickers to show.

Reportedly, Iran due to its borders Afghanistan- the major supplier of over 90 percent of opium to the European and Asian states- is on the route of illegal drug transit to Europe and the country has not been secured against such illegal activities.

Answering to a question about the death of a young girl in Iran, President Raisi said he has held a phone call with her family members in person.

The case is being followed up in the country as the nature of the Islamic Republic is after defending human rights, he stressed.

He went on to criticize that the West’s so-called defenders of human rights follow double-sided criteria because they are not sensitive about the official reports on the killing of men and women in the Western states and in the US by the Police.

“We’re after balance in our foreign interactions and foreign policy, and we don’t limit relations with the world to interact with only certain Western countries.”
