KSR signs pact to rehabilitate agriculture sector in Gaza


The Kuwait Society for relief (KSR) announced Tuesday signing a memorandum of understanding with Jordan’s Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN, aiming to rehabilitate the agricultural sector in the Gaza Strip, with support from Kuwait’s the Direct Aid Society.

In a statement to KUNA, KSR Director General Abdulaziz Al-Obaid said that the project aims to support Palestinian farmers after being systematically targeted by the Israeli occupation forces, destroying their farms and consequently depriving their owners from benefiting from them.

The aim of this yearlong project is to supply agricultural and fodder seeds, various vegetable seedlings, fertilizers, pesticides, plastic greenhouse covers, agricultural ponds and extending irrigation networks in the Gaza Strip, revealed Dr. Abdullah Al-Sumait Director General of the Direct Aid Society to KUNA.

APN is an independent, non-profit civil society organization based in Amman, Jordan, it aims to protect natural resources, rehabilitate and sustain the env
ironmental, agricultural and food systems in Arab regions affected by wars and conflicts in coordination with Arab and international organizations to achieve this.
