Tehran, IRNA – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei attended the ceremony for martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (AS) – the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims – on Thursday.
The ceremony was held at Imam Khomeini Hussainia downtown Tehran.
No participants except religious eulogists (Maddahan) were present at the ceremony which was held under the health protocols in the presence of the Supreme Leader .
Martyred in 818 AD, Imam Reza is the eighth Imam of Shia Islam.

Meanwhile, the deadly coronavirus has imposed restrictions on many events and gatherings including this martyrdom anniversary.
