Leader: Progress Hinges on Empowering Private Sector


Tehran: Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has emphasized that the country’s progress is contingent upon empowering the private sector. Ayatollah Khamenei expressed these views during a visit to the ‘Pioneers of Progress’ exhibition, held at the Imam Khomeini Complex in Tehran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the exhibition featured various achievements of the private sector, with Ayatollah Khamenei engaging with private sector manufacturers and active figures to discuss their concerns and perspectives. The Leader highlighted the necessity for the administration and officials to address the grievances of the private sector, stating that the nation’s advancement depends on providing opportunities for private enterprises.

During the event, the minister of energy discussed strategies to address imbalances in the energy sector and meet the country’s electricity demands. Ayatollah Khamenei agreed with the minister’s insights but stressed the importance of translating words
into concrete actions. He noted that while solutions to these imbalances have been on the agenda for years, significant progress is still needed.

The exhibition displayed the private sector’s achievements across various industries, including communications, information technology, satellite manufacturing, artificial intelligence, aircraft repair, mining, oil, gas, petrochemicals, steel, aluminum, home appliances, marine, carpet, water, electricity, textiles, medical and hospital equipment, pharmaceuticals, agricultural and livestock products, and handicrafts and tourism.
