Lebanon PM hails Iran’s support for tranquility in his country

Tehran, IRNA – Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support for establishment of tranquility and peace in his country.

Lebanese people and government will not forget Iran’s supports, Mikati said during his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.

The meeting was held in Germany on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on February 18-20.

Further, Mikati presented a report on the latest developments in Lebanon.

At his remarks, the Lebanese premier stressed the importance of strengthening sustainable relations with all Islamic countries, especially key and influential states in the region.

Then, he hoped that Beirut-Tehran ties would grow more than before.

For his part, the Iranian foreign minister highlighted deep friendship between Tehran and Beirut, and called on all countries to help Lebanon ensure stability and security inside the country.

Amirabdollahian also stressed noninterference of the third countries in the internal affairs of Lebanon.

Elsewhere, he underlined the importance of following up implementation of previous agreements between the two countries.

Additionally, the two officials reviewed some regional issues, including those of Persian Gulf, Yemen and the Levant region.
