Macron launches scathing verbal attack on Russia

French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday launched a scathing rhetorical attack on Russia accusing Moscow of waging “an imperial war” on Ukraine and branding it a destabilizing power in Africa.

Macron assailed Russia in words during the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact, hosted by Paris for two days.

“Russia must stop the war and respect the international law,” Macron said, accusing Moscow of launching “an imperial war,” on the neighboring country and playing a destabilizing role in Africa.

He indicated that the Russia paramilitary force, Wagner, has been playing a negative role in Africa.

Russia has placed itself in a status where it no longer respects the international law, Macron said, adding that he sensed no reason to contact Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Russia is not playing a useful role in the international community,” said Macron who had held in the past marathon sessions with Putin over Ukraine’s question.
