Makkah Route Initiative: Facilitation, Convenience, and Welcome for Hajj Pilgrims


Ankara, Since its unification, Saudi Arabia has spared no effort in serving the Hajj pilgrims, annually keeping up with technological, technical, and organizational advancements and building human capabilities.

This commitment ensures that the pilgrims’ journey is as effortless and convenient as possible, saving them time, effort, and hardship. This reflects the leadership’s dedication to serving Muslim people from around the world and ensuring their comfort.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has witnessed this joy being brought to Turkish pilgrims at Ankara Esenboga Airport in light of the enhanced services that they receive.

There, SPA had the opportunity to meet with beneficiaries of the Makkah Route Initiative, which is part of the Pilgrim Experience Program (PEP) under Saudi Vision 2030.

The Makkah Route Initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with the ministries of foreign affairs, health, Hajj and Umrah and media as well as several government bodies.

The initiative involv
es the General Authority of Civil Aviation; the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority; the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA); and the PEP Program.
