Martyr Soleimani fought for Islamic ummah: Senior JI leader

Karachi, IRNA — Senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan strongly condemning the US terrorist operation to martyr the commander of Qods Force of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said General Qasem Soleimani was a fighter and defender of the rights of Islamic nations.

Provincial chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Muhammad Hussain Mehanti expressed these views during a meeting with Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Hamid Shahriari at Jamaat-e-Islami head office in Karachi on Tuesday.

Molavi Nazir Ahmad Salami, Member of Iranian Assembly of Experts, Kamran Pezeshki, Caretaker of Iran Culture Center, Asadullah Bhutto, the Secretary General of the National Solidarity Council of Pakistan, and Saber Abu Maryam, Secretary General of Palestine Foundation of Pakistan were also present.

The head of the Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh referred to the common vision of Imam Khomeini, the great founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, and Maulana Abul-Ali Maududi, the founder of Jamaat-e-Islamic for the uplift of Islamic nations and the defense of Muslims against injustice.

Muhammad Hussain Mehanti emphasized the people of Pakistan, especially the Jamaat-e-Islami, support Iran’s struggle for the victory of the Islamic Revolution and defend Iran’s resistance against colonialism.

Welcoming the recent talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia, he added we believe in the important role of Tehran in helping to solve the problems of the Islamic world and promoting interaction between Islamic states to resolve the ambiguities.

Welcoming the idea of the Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought for unity of Islamic sects he added we are witnessing unrest in some Islamic countries and to overcome this crisis we must promote joint trade and close cooperation.

Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought stressed the importance of close interaction between Iran and Pakistan, especially bilateral trade and economic cooperation for the welfare of the two countries, adding the Islamic Republic of Iran is always determined to interact with neighbors.

Hamid Shahriari emphasized the problems of the Islamic world, particularly Yemen and said Yemen issue must be resolved through peaceful means, and Yemeni groups must be allowed to solve their problems by themselves.

He said Iran welcomes the improvement of relations with Saudi Arabia and is ready to play a role in helping to resolve the problems of the Islamic world.

During the meeting, Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought praised the efforts of the Palestine Foundation of Pakistan (PLF) to highlight the problems of Palestinian people, the liberation of Jerusalem and enlightenment in Pakistani society about the occupation and atrocities of the illegitimate Zionist regime.
