Massive Expansions at Dahshur Compressor Station to Raise Capacity to 46 Million Cubic Meters of Gas Per Day


Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said on Wednesday 7/2/2024 the expansions of the Dahshur gas compressor station that aim to increase the capacity by more than two-thirds.

In an inspection tour by minister Tarek El Molla, he said the government plans that will result in an increase in the quantities of natural gas pumped to the South Valley region from 28 million cubic meters per day to reach 46.2 million cubic meters per day, in order to meet the needs of the gas consumption sectors; i.e. electricity, industry, commercials and homes, as well as the needs of the Assiut National Petroleum Manufacturing Company.

The minister was checking the progress of fulfillment of the new interchange control center for the National Natural Gas Network in the Dahshur region.

The project is considered one of smart and sustainable solutions in the Middle East economically, environmentally and socially.

Two compressor units will be added, one of which is powered by a gas turbine and the other by two elect
ric compressors.
