‘Mawan’ Implements Several Initiatives to Serve Pilgrims

Riyadh: The National Waste Management Center (Mawan) continues its work and initiatives during the Hajj season 1445 AH, aiming to implement the waste management system and its executive regulations comprehensively. Mawan is scheduled to implement many initiatives to serve the pilgrims, raise awareness, and instil positive behaviours among pilgrims.

As part of the center’s preparations, during May, the monitoring and inspection teams conducted inspection tours of 49 facilities operating in the waste management sector in Makkah and Madinah regions to ensure compliance with all requirements of the waste management system and the executive regulations.

The center’s CEO, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sebaei, explained that the goal of ‘Mawan’ during this year’s Hajj season is to raise the level of awareness about environmentally friendly behaviors and compliance with waste management controls.

“Our work aims to reduce waste production and limit pollution of all kinds, thereby making a significant positive impact on the envir
onment,” he said, adding that the center aims to implement a number of initiatives during this year’s Hajj season, which will serve the pilgrims, make the most of natural resources, and enhance the health of the individual and society.
