Member Of The Executive Committee Of The Arab Parliament Union: This Is The Priority Of Our Meetings In Baghdad

The Arab Parliament Union disclosed the priority of the work of the thirty-second session of the Executive Committee meeting, which officially began today, Wednesday, in the capital, Baghdad.

Member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Parliament, Michel Moussa, said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): “The Arab Parliamentary Union aims to bring the Arab councils together and maintain permanent contact between them to bring them closer to legislation and laws, as well as creating a parliamentary and diplomatic platform with which they can work on common issues.”

He added, “The meetings relate to internal organizational matters related to the Executive Council, which meets twice a year to study these topics, form its working committees, and submit these committees’ reports to the executive committees to prepare for the council presidents’ meeting, and submit reports, suggestions, and the agenda.”

He explained, “There is convergence and unification to establish a general framework for legislation that concerns the Arab situation, and there are reports related to the empowerment of women, climate, the issue of Palestine, and the Arab economy in general,” indicating that “the Executive Committee is preparing these topics to express observations and approve the formula approved by the Council, and to set the agenda for the next meeting of the heads of the Arab parliaments next March, and the decision returns to the heads of the councils that meet periodically.”
