The proposed strategies of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance to prevent the smuggling of wheat to neighbouring countries and the need to optimise bread consumption in the country were discussed at a meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Board.
In this meeting, which was chaired by Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, a proposal from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance was considered, according to which the price of wheat and bread for the consumer will not change.
Based on the decision of the members, it was decided that considering the government’s efforts to control the price of bread and prevent its price increase, the various aspects of this plan will be reviewed by the related agencies and the result will be presented to future meetings.
In this meeting, the issue of currency outflow in the form of capital from the country was also discussed and it was decided that the related agencies will design and present the necessary preventive policies in this field.
