Ministry of Transport: The Completion Rate Of Al-Faw Port Project Has Reached 75%

Baghdad,The Ministry of Transport announced today, Saturday, the progress of work on the Grand Al-Faw Port projects, confirming that the achieved completion rates exceeded 75 %.

The Ministry of Transport said in a statement, “Work on Al-Faw Port projects and completion rates are progressing, exceeding 75%, indicating that the completion rate in the container yard has exceeded 60%.”

The statement added that the rest of the projects are witnessing progress in completion rates, indicating the launch of the first stages of drawing up the operational policy for Al-Faw Port project.

It explained that there is an interconnection between the completion process and the operational plan, adding that the first phase of the operational plan was presented to Minister Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, while the minister presented it to the Supreme Committee headed by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, which supervises the development road and operation of the Grand Al-Faw Port.

The ministry’s statement confirmed, “We are now preparing the second and then the third phase to complete all the correct steps that make Al-Faw Port one of the important global stations in maritime trade.”

The statement explained that Al-Faw Port is one of the large and global stations in transporting trade (transit or transporting transit trade) to transfer or transport the trade of the India and East Asia region and the trade of China towards Europe and the Caucasus region, in addition to Turkey, indicating that “when we complete this vision or operational plan, it will be announced.”
