The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced an approximate date for approving the state’s general budget, while it will start today to follow up the budget discussion.
Member of the Committee, MP Jamal Kougar, stated in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that Parliament and the Finance Committee are determined to approve the budget before the end of next May due to the need of ministries and state institutions to start their projects.
He stressed that Parliament has the authority to transfer sums only among ministries and institutions within the framework of the budget, and it does not have the right to add paragraphs that have a financial side and change the paragraphs.
