Najran Hikers Explore Mount Magharah

The Saudi Press Agency joined the Najran hiking club on its latest adventure, a trek through unspoiled nature on the slopes of Mount Magharah in the Sarawat mountain range.

Mohsen bin Mohammed Al Nomes, head of the Najran hiking club, highlighted the event’s focus on fostering a healthy community by way of a 3-kilometer trail. The club, stemming from its love for nature, mountain hiking, and environmental conservation, aims to protect wildlife and natural landscapes.

With over 200 members, the club operates under the Saudi Climbing and Hiking Federation. Mana bin Naji Al Saad, head of the Najran Tourist Club, emphasized the event’s role in advocating for a healthy, active community and preserving natural parks and wildlife. The club also encourages exploration of historical and cultural landmarks, celebrating national achievements.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Sport, through the Saudi Climbing and Hiking Federation, aims to promote hiking throughout Saudi Arabia, attracting enthusiasts, expanding the sp
ort’s reach, and introducing the country’s diverse terrain and tourist attractions, including those in the Najran region.

Hiking involves a group of enthusiasts following a guide along a predetermined path, delving into wooded or rugged mountainous areas of natural beauty, away from the urban hustle and bustle and crowded spaces.
