National Center for Non-Profit Sector, A Beacon for the Culture of Volunteerism

Makkah: The National Center for Non-Profit Sector (NCNPS) plays a vital role in serving pilgrims.

Through volunteers and government and non-profit agencies, it provides services in various fields: guidance, awareness, water distribution, health, logistical support, and food preservation.

Volunteer applicants are allowed to serve pilgrims after proving that they have the skills required for the volunteer opportunity, which is available on the National Volunteer Portal, or at the entities providing volunteer opportunities. Their work starts after the holy month of Ramadan until the 15th of Dhu Al-Hijjah.

NCNPS is responsible for the increase in the number of volunteers in the Kingdom; it works to spread the culture of volunteerism, to encourage, organize and empower volunteer work.

This is one of priorities of the wise leadership in the volunteer field, one of the objectives of the Saudi Vision, which is to reach one million volunteers by 2030.

According to the annual report on the progress of work regardi
ng Saudi Vision 2030 programs, in 2023, more than 131,000 volunteers contributed to serving pilgrims, exceeding the 2023 objective of reaching 110,000 volunteers.

The number of volunteers, generally, reached 834,000, exceeding the 2023 target of 670,000.
