NCM Holds Climate Impact Workshop for 1445H Hajj Season


Jeddah, The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) organized a workshop at its headquarters in Jeddah today to discuss the significant climatic impacts on the Holy Sites for 1445H Hajj season. The workshop was attended by 43 governmental and supporting entities involved in Hajj work.

During the workshop, NCM CEO Dr. Ayman bin Salem Ghulam emphasized the importance of climate information for operational, field, organizational, and preventive Hajj activities. He highlighted the necessity of strengthening cooperation among the entities involved to meet the future needs of beneficiaries and protect lives and property from the effects of weather phenomena.

Dr. Ghulam emphasized the significant attention given by the wise leadership to the meteorological sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to achieve the ambitious vision of 2030. He also mentioned the efforts undertaken by the centre to expand its work in the holy sites, such as establishing manned centres, automatic stations, and radars and providing highly acc
urate meteorological services. These measures aim to ensure the highest degree of accuracy in meteorological information on the holy sites and to provide all necessary information to the beneficiaries in the field.
