According to the report presented by the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade at the meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Board, the value of non-oil exports has increased from $35 billion in 1399 to $47 billion in 1400.

At a meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Board chaired by Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi on Sunday night, the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, presented a report on the country’s non-oil exports, especially in recent months.

According to the report, the country’s non-oil exports have increased significantly since the start of office of the new government, from $35 billion in year 1999 to $47 billion in year 1400.

Minister of Industry also presented the ministry’s proposals to improve trade with target countries, especially neighbours and countries in the region.

After presenting this report, the President referred to the huge capacities of the country in the production and export sector, and called on all agencies to use these capacities in order to increase non-oil exports and reduce their dependence on oil revenues as much as possible.

The meeting was also followed by a report on the trend of rising prices for food, clothing, and housing rents in recent months.

In this regard, Dr Raisi instructed the Ministries of Agricultural Jihad and Industry, Mines and Trade to conduct a thorough and expert investigation into the reason for the increase in prices despite the declining trend in foreign currency prices and to submit their operational proposals to the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Board.

Emphasising the need to try to avoid imposing more costs on the people, the President called on the relevant executive bodies to take necessary and immediate measures to prevent price growth, especially in the last days of the year.
