OIC Expresses Solidarity with Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and Chad Following Heavy Flooding

ecretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha has expressed solidarity with the governments and peoples of Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, and Chad following the heavy flooding in these countries since August 16, 2024, resulted in huge human and material losses. OIC Secretary General also offered his deep condolences to the families of the victims and his sympathy to the affected people.

Taha also welcomed the emergency measures taken by the relevant government authorities to confront the effects of these large-scale floods and called on OIC member states and competent institutions, as well as other international partners to provide all possible emergency assistance to support the efforts made by the countries concerned to assist the affected population and reduce the damage caused by these floods.
