One citizen assassinated in Saturday’s unrests in western Iran: Police

Sanandaj, IRNA – Iranian police says one citizen has been assassinated in unrests in western city of Sanandaj on Saturday.

A video went viral earlier in the day in which a young man was killed which caused serious concern among the local people.

The video showed that the young man was shot dead while he was driving a car.

Some people had claimed that the man was targeted by the Iranian police. This is while Brigadier General Ali Azadi, the police chief of Kordestan Province, said that none of the police officers responsible for dispersing the rioters are equipped with war bullets.

Kordestan governor general also announced on September 20 that three citizens were killed in a suspicious way in unrests across the city. He said that the guns by which these citizens were killed are not used by the Iranian armed forces.

Certain terrorist groups have been seeking to fuel the flame of the riots over the past days and have therefore tried to increase the number of those killed in the incidents.
