Speaking before noon on Tuesday in the meeting of the Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Board and after discussing the latest situation of providing foreign exchange resources for the import of COVID-19 vaccine, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi ordered all necessary measures and arrangements to expedite the provision of necessary resources for importing vaccines.
In today’s meeting, two issues of meeting the foreign exchange needs of basic goods as well as medicine, medical equipment and rapid distribution of basic goods stored in ports throughout the country were discussed and examined.
In this meeting, a report was presented on the status of stocks of basic goods and according to the very good condition of goods in ports, it was decided to provide foreign exchange for these goods and the flow of goods and distribution throughout the country without interruption.
Regarding the transfer of goods from ports, the latest status of the goods clearance process and a set of necessary measures to speed it up were raised and it was decided that the relevant executive bodies seriously follow the issue and speed up the process of customs clearance and transfer of goods.
In this meeting, the President stressed the need to reform the process of allocating the necessary currency for the import of goods, as well as ways to accelerate the clearance and transfer of goods into the country.
