Over 100 Scientists Served by 7 Basic Laboratories and Central Workshops to Support Scientific and Technical Research at KAUST

Jeddah, At King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), more than 100 scientists across various disciplines are focusing on advancing scientific and technical research.

This research is undertaken through seven core laboratories, central workshops, academic departments, and research centres. These facilities support the university’s research goals by bringing together faculty members, researchers, and graduate students to work on various aspects of research.

The scientists at KAUST are not just conducting research but actively addressing global challenges. Their focus on water, food, energy, and the environment is not just a scientific endeavour but a commitment to making a real-world impact. They provide technical expertise in 20 research fields centred around these strategic areas, working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that fosters innovation and solutions.

KAUST’s research areas include applied mathematics and computational sciences, chemical and biological engineering, computational biosciences, computer sciences, earth sciences and engineering, and electrical and computer engineering.

KAUST’s research areas also encompass epigenetics, ecosystems, extreme computing, functional biology, genomics, structural biology (imaging), machine learning, oceanography, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, petroleum engineering, statistical sciences, and visual computing.
