Pakistan Lahore Chamber of Commerce delegation visits Iran

Islamabad, IRNA — A Pakistani business delegation consisting of the President and senior officials of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry is visiting Iran to strengthen trade relations, especially to interact with the chambers of commerce of Iran’s provinces.

Members of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce headed by their President Noman Kabir, left for Tehran from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport early Sunday.

The delegation is scheduled to visit Tehran, Isfahan, Mashhad and Zahedan to meet with Iranian business and provincial officials.

During the meetings, they will discuss ways to develop mutual trade and increase economic and trade relations between Punjab and Iranian provinces.

Strengthening relations between the private sectors of Iran and Pakistan and explaining mutual capacities for the development of cooperation in the fields of investment, tourism, industry and import and export are other objectives of the Pakistani business delegation’s visit to Iran.

The business and economic activists of Lahore, the capital of Pakistan’s most populated province are visiting Iran while the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan is currently in Tehran on an official visit at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart.

Strengthening bilateral trade, facilitating trade relations between the two neighbors, in particular, promoting the design of cross-border joint markets and streamlining border relations are on the agenda on the Deputy Speakers’ visit.

“The Lahore Chamber is the strongest chamber of commerce in Pakistan with more than 25,000 members. The members of the chamber are visiting Iran at the official invitation of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce and Industry,” said Mohammad Reza Nazeri, Iran’s Consul General in Lahore.

He said that this trip will be an opportunity to develop economic cooperation between our provinces and Pakistan’s eastern neighbor.
