Pakistani figures demand world to adopt just approach towards Palestine cause

Tehran, IRNA — Pakistani political and religious leaders while condemning the continued anti-human activities of the Zionist regime in Jerusalem, especially during Ramadan, called upon the international community to end its silence on the Zionist atrocities against Palestine and form a joint front against the Tel Aviv conspiracy.

They expressed the views at a seminar on Al-Quds Day entitled “Support for Palestine and the Freedom of the First Qibla” held on Sunday in Islamabad with the participation of Pakistani political and religious figures, including the former Minister of Human Rights and some members of the Parliament.

During the event which was organized by Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan (MWM), the speakers called for practical steps by international institutions and human rights organizations to defend the Palestinian people against the oppression and occupation of Israel, as well as the Muslims of Kashmir and Yemen.

Emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to support the Palestinian cause, the liberation of Jerusalem and opposition to any conspiracy to compromise with the occupying Zionist regime, Pakistani figures said the Islamic world must take a united stand to support the Palestinian resistance and reject any plan to recognize Israel.

“The issue of Palestine is a common concern of Islamic nations and is not limited to the Arab world, but today non-Arab countries such as the Islamic Republic of Iran are at the forefront of defending Jerusalem and fighting the regime,” said Allama Raja Nasser Abbas Jafari, Secretary General of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan (MWM).

“The Arab rulers who have betrayed Palestine must pay the price because by establishing relations with Israel, the Zionists have opened their ways in the region,” he added.

The former Pakistani Minister of Human Rights also condemned the continuation of the Zionist regime’s crimes in the occupied territories, especially the escalation of violence against Muslims in Jerusalem, during a speech at the Quds Seminar.

Shireen Mazari blamed the international community for its dual approach to Israeli crimes and its silence on the suffering of the Palestinian people, adding that the West must not shy away from dealing with perpetrators of human rights violations against the Palestinian people and the occupiers.

She called Israel an illegitimate regime and stressed Palestine is in dire need of unity, but unfortunately some rulers have surrendered to compromise with Israel, while the Islamic world should not conspire with or compromise with the Zionist regime at any cost.

Praising the Islamic Republic of Iran’s position on Palestine and the resistance of Iranian people against foreign pressures, especially US unilateral sanctions, the Pakistani politician added that the Islamic Ummah should unite to counter foreign pressure and the Zionist regime by following the example of the Iranian people.

Sahibzada Hamid Reza of Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) said rhetoric and the issuance of statements will never solve the problems of the Islamic Ummah like Palestine and Kashmir, but practical steps must be taken and we must strengthen the convergence among ourselves today.

Mufti Gulzar Ahmad Naeemi, President Jamat Ahle Haram also paid rich tribute to Imam Khomeini (AS), saying declaration of the last Friday of Ramadan by the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran to hold World Quds Day brought Muslims to a common ground.

Senator Ijaz Chaudhry, a member of the Tehreek-e-Insaf party also spoke at a conference on the liberation of Jerusalem.

He added the people of Pakistan, along with other Muslim nations and freedom-seekers of the world are on the side of Palestine and will never surrender to foreign pressures and arrogant powers.

Meanwhile a seminar on the liberation of Al-Quds was also organized by the Palestine Foundation of Pakistan in Lahore, the capital of the Punjab province of Pakistan.

Important political, religious and social figures on the occasion emphasizing the importance of Al-Quds said all freedom-loving nations of the world oppose Zionist suppression against Palestine and demand an end to the occupation of Palestinian lands.

The Pakistani government recently expressed deep concern over recent events in the occupied Palestinian Territories, and condemned the Zionist regime’s brutal actions against the people of Jerusalem.
