Paris 2024 Olympic Games Conclude, Los Angeles Receives Flag for the 2028 Games

The Olympic Games, hosted this year by Paris for 17 days, officially concluded last night at the Stade de France; more than 10,000 men and women athletes from 205 countries attended the closing ceremony.

French President Emmanuel Macron, President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, SOPC Vice President Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, member of SOPC Board of Directors and of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, IOC President Thomas Bach, several other heads of states and more than 81,000 spectators were also in attendance.

The Olympic flag was handed over to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass; the city will host the 2028 Olympic Games.

Bach announced the end of the current Olympic games before extinguishing the Olympic flame, signaling the end of the biggest sporting event that takes place every four years.
