Participants in King Abdulaziz Holy Quran Competition Visit Kaaba Kiswa Factory, Holy Sites, Hira Cultural District

Participants in the 44th King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran today visited the King Abdulaziz Complex for Holy Kaaba Kiswa (cloth), which is a prominent landmark in Makkah and a destination for those wishing to learn about the stages of manufacturing the Kiswa.

During the visit, the participants toured the complex’s sections, listened to its history, and observed the stages of manufacturing the Kiswa. They learned about the history of its production and the raw materials used. They also watched models and photographs that depict the historical stages of making the Kaaba’s covering and even participated in weaving the fabric of the Kiswa.

They visited the holy sites, including Arafat, Mina, and Muzdalifah, and saw Jabal Al-Rahmah (Mount of Mercy), Namirah Mosque, the three Jamarat, Al-Khayf Mosque, and the Jamarat Bridge. They praised the efforts made by the Kingdom’s leadership in serving the Grand Holy Mosque, pilgrims, and the h
oly sites.

The cultural tour concluded with a visit to the Hira Cultural District at Jabal Al-Noor. There, they explored the Exhibition of Revelation, which features life-sized models of the Cave of Hira and a giant screen narrating the story of the revelation to Prophet Muhammad. The participants also got acquainted with the scientific content and advanced technologies used in the district, taking a historical journey into the past and the beginning of the revelation.

The participants commended the Kingdom’s pioneering role in serving Islamic causes and Muslims worldwide and the advanced projects in Makkah and the holy sites, which have significantly facilitated the pilgrim experience.
