Pres. Raisi calls for bolstering trade capacities of D-8

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stressed on Monday that there are many capacities in D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) countries to increase trade and transit of goods.

D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) Secretary-General Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam, who is visiting Tehran, met and held talks with President Raisi here on Monday.

Pointing to the knowledge-based achievements of Iranian youth in Iran’s science and technology parks, President Raisi noted that Iran can share its technological and knowledge-based achievements with other D-8 member states.

Referring to Iran’s policy to cooperate with regional, and international organizations, he stressed that there are many capacities in D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) countries to enhance trade and transit of goods, which has been neglected.

Acknowledging the need to boost trade exchanges among D-8 members, President Raisi reiterated that members of the organization should try to expand trade exchanges among member states while activating their capacities.

The President highlighted that the US does not want developing countries to grow and is interested in their dependence on the system of domination in any way.

Abdulqadir Imam, for his part, described Iran as an active member of the organization, noting that two important institutions of D-8 are in Tehran and Hamedan.
