Pres. Raisi calls for strengthening Iran-Algiers ties

Tehran, IRNA – Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi in a meeting with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Tuesday called for strengthening Tehran-Algiers bilateral, regional, and international relations.

In a meeting with the Algerian President on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 6th Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) Summit in Doha, Qatar, President Raisi said that Iran and Algeria have good cooperation, but this level of interaction is insufficient and given the determination of the leaders of the two states, Tehran-Algiers ties can be further developed in bilateral, regional and international arenas.

He added that wherever there is insecurity in the region, they can find traces of the presence and involvement of foreigners, especially Americans. Therefore, the main solution to the problems and insecurity of the region is to expel the US and foreigners from the region.

Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for his part, urged for expanding his country’s relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields.
